Meet upon arrival, Transfer and check-in at your hotel.
Accommodation: Hotel in Vientiane
After early breakfast at the hotel, drive along the Mekong via the only good road to the South of Laos and cross the wildest region of the country. Stop at Pakxan for a break and sightseeing before continuing the road to Thakhek. On arrival in Thakhek, transfer to hotel for check in.

After breakfast, drive to the southern part until Savannakhet. The road goes along the Mekong and zigzags between plantations and hills.
En route, stop to visit the ramparts and French colonial houses of Thakek, the borderline city with Thailand then discover the Sikhotang Stupa, built in the 9th century.
Arrive in Savannakhet, the second city of the country with the largest Vietnamese population, mostly descendants of workers displaced by the French settlers to work in plantations during the colonial era.
In the afternoon visit Pha Tha Inghang, built by King Sumihatham 200 years ago and explore the city and its villas and rich colonial past on arrival in Pakse, transfer to hotel.

After breakfast, excursion by car to Tadlo on the Northern edge of the Boloven Plateau. En route, visit Yaheune and Lavai villages.
Upon arrival in Tadlo, discover the Seset waterfalls and visit the surrounding Alack and Nge tribal villages. Continue towards Paksong.
En route, visit a Kaleum village and a tea and coffee plantation in Paksong. Then stop at the impressive Tadfane Waterfalls.

After breakfast, transfer to the pier and board a traditional riverboat for a 2-hour cruise downstream the Mekong River towards the former Royal capital of Champassak.
Upon arrival, continue by car to Vat Phou (8 km from the city), a pre-Angkorian temple dating from the 6-13th century, classified as a World Heritage Site since 2002. In the afternoon, continue your cruise along the Mekong River towards Khong Island (approx. 5 hours depending on water level).
En route, stop at Ban Houei Thomo village and walk to the nearby ruins of the Khmer temple of Oum Moung, which is hidden in a thick forest.
Arrival in Khong before sunset and check-in at your hotel.

After breakfast, board a long-tail riverboat for a cruise through the maze of waterways into the tropical paradise of Siphandone “The 4,000 Islands”. During the rainy season, the Mekong River reaches a breadth of 14 km; when the water recedes, it leaves behind a myriad of islands and islets. Visit Det and Som Islands for a glimpse of the way of life of the fishermen.
Arrive in Khone Island. Discover Khone Island’s colonial vestiges, including an old railway, which was built by the French in 1897 in order to bypass the powerful rapids that disrupt the navigation along the Mekong River.
Continue to Liphi Waterfall, a home to a colony of fresh water dolphins, a rare and endangered species known as Irrawaddy Dolphins. Return to Khong Island.

After breakfast, cross the Mekong River and continue to the famous waterfalls of Khone Phapeng, the largest cascade on the Mekong River along its 4,350 km journey from the Tibetan Plateau to the South China Sea. Drive back to Pakse.
On the way, stop at Ban Khiet Ngong village, populated by the Suay ethnic group, and take an elephant ride through the primitive jungle to explore the enigmatic ruins of Phou Asa temple (if time permit).
Then, transfer to the airport for a flight to Luang Prabang. On arrival, you will be met by our staff and transferred to your hotel. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos.
Today is free at your leisure to explore.

After breakfast, we visit The National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture throughout the ages. We then enjoy a short-guided tour to see the city’s oldest temple Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong.
We’ll also see visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrines of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. We then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset.
From there, we explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textile made by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

Today, we embark on an upstream cruise on the Mekong River, which gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. We’ll make sure to stop at the Pak Ou Caves, sanctuaries consisting of two large caverns, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images. We will also stop at a few villages during the day, including Ban Xanghai where the local rice wine is produced and Ban Xieng Lek and Ban Xangkong, known for handmade jute paper.

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning alms giving ritual to saffron clad monks. This tradition is unique to Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving this procession. Later in the morning we go to Phosi Market, which has an eclectic selection of foodstuffs and souvenirs.
Afterwards, we head out to visit some ethnic minority villages and see how these colorful people live. We then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfalls where you can swim in the turquoise pools or walk along forest paths.
We continue to Ban Phanom, another well-known weaving village, and return to the city by late evening to observe the sunset at Wat Phabath.

After breakfast, Excursion by car to Vang Vieng via Mouang Kasi. Enroute, stop visiting minority villages of Khmu, H’Mong, and traditional Low Land Lao. Continue on excursion to Vang Vieng via Mouang Kasi and many stops for photography the panorama scenic road and local villagers along the road can be done.
Arrive to Vang Vieng before sunset and transfer to hotel in town for check in.

Breakfast at hotel; visit the most famous of Tham Chang for overlooking the view of Vang Vieng. Then excursion to Vientiane. Enroute, stop visiting Ban Tha Hue the fishes market of local people on excursion to Vientiane and stop visiting the archaeological site of Vang Xang and H’Mong market at Ban KM52.
Arrive Vientiane visit Vat Sisaket, the only original temple in Vientiane (built in 1818 – it is the sole survivor of a Thai invasion in 1828), the Ho Phrakeo, the former Royal Chapel where an Emerald Buddha at the early time of the Lane Xang Kingdom was enshrined, the Patouxai and That Luang stupa. Transfer to hotel in town for check in.
